Might be excessive

A few things that might be necessary...or not. My brain says that I probably need a $1000 jacket designed for Arctic expeditions. Just in case. My bank account tends not to agree. I'm sure we'll reach an amicable comprimise.

I only take 2 or 3 Antarctic trips a year, but when I do I'm glad to have this jacket. Also great for around Banff or NYC.

Vollebak Full Metal Jacket

Built with 13 kilometers of copper. Because disease, I guess. Also marketing.

"With over 11 kilometres of copper in every jacket, the Full Metal Jacket is designed to help us pioneer the future of intelligent and disease resistant clothing." Copper is actually a pretty cool disease-resistant material but wow I've never seen this much used in apparel. Apparently it's built with 65% copper, and claims to still be soft, malleable, waterproof, windproof, AND breathable.

The new Ford Bronco

Do I need it? Probably not. But I definitely want one.

Look, I'm not really a car guy. My 2007 Rav4 Sport has trundled along for almost 15 years at this point, and I'll keep driving it until it bites the dust. It's been a great combination of sleeping space (fold-flat seats), capability, and decent mileage.  I'm not going to run out and buy one, but it looks freaking amazing, and has bunch of awesome adventure-specific features to boot.

The Vollebak Indestructible Puffer

Submitted by:

In case you needed a knife-proof, "good to -40 degrees", too cool for Canada Goose puffy made from dyneema.

This is the definition of "extra". A non-packable, "good to -40 degrees", made from dyneema, not-lightweight, stab-proof puffy. Also, it's "indestructible" and made for "adventure" but the word 'waterproof' appears no where in the product description.

Amazing. It's basically a Canada Goose parka for people who think they're too cool for Canada Goose. Mad props to the copywriter on this. It'll probably sell out.

Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Down Suit

My girlfriend informs me that this isn't excessive, but actually appropriate indoor attire all winter.

Whether you're watching TV, working on the computer, making dinner, or climbing Everest, this down suit does it all.
